"...On which we used to relyyyyyyyyy!!!"

Today began with a very nice and delicious free breakfast from our hotel, complete with Haggis and these huge pieces of bacon. I also had the chef's special, which was this hard-boiled egg with a yolk-and-butter sauce I can't remember the name off. I actually really liked it (No one else tried it). They also had this cheese wrapped up like sausage meat or something that was hard to open. I also tried some gross sauce/spread/stuff called Marmite. But either way, we had a very filling breakfast, followed by lounging in our room deciding what to do next.

What's awesome is that Buckingham Palace is a 20 minute walk from our hotel, so we went down to witness the changing of the guards. This is where the title comes in. We saw I think were the new guards about to go on duty in front of the guard's house. The band played too, and they played the Family Guy theme song to my amusement. It took a moment to recognize it, but it definitely was it. After that we tried to follow the guards as they paraded through the streets toward the palace, where the crowd was so thick there was no way we would see the rest of the ceremony. So instead we wandered.

We went down to Hyde's Park where swans ate food out of our hands without trying to be rude and bite us. At this point, Charlotte and I were too tired to walk with Mom down to Speaker's Corner, so we sat under a tree to wait while she wandered off in the wrong direction. When she came back the majority vote was to head back to the hotel, but we took the long way around the palace grounds, stopping along the way at The Royal Mews (Stables) to see the royal coaches, cars, and horses. We even got to see the Golden Coach, the coach used for coronations. That thing is so huge and so heavy, it take 8 horses to pull it at walking speed. To put the brakes on, a guy has to stand behind and put on the breaks well before the place they want to stop at.

Then we went back to the hotel for lunch and a break that turned into a "Let's call it a day." From then on, we didn't much else but sit around and watch TV and eat popcorn. I was pleased with the day. We've still got the rest of the week, and we got to see some pretty cool stuff. The jetlag was horrible yesterday and a little bad today, but I suspect tomorrow I'll have adjusted to the time zone difference completely. Though, I say that typing this at almost 1 in the morning. To fair, it's really hard to charge 2 phones, 2 iPads, and a laptop when you only have 1 Amercian outlet. My tablet was almost dead by the time I would have wanted to type this out.

Tomorrow I'm also going to try uploading all the photos I've taken.
